At the next level in terms of size, are Guest Houses.  Similar in many ways to B&B's, but usually with more rooms and often more services like a dinner menu at least part of the week.

Small hotels, like the name implies, tend to offer more services such as nightly dinner meals, bar, Internet access and other amenities, while maintaining the charm, intimacy, and cultural flavor one would expect when visiting another country.
